Ok, so after reading theUser's Manual I need to correct my previous post ...
The VT-12 has a maximum speed of 50 not the 25 that I stated. So the VT-12 starts at a frequency of 15 Hz at speed 1 and goes up to 45 Hz at speed 50.
Decyphered, this means that at 15 Hz my muscles were contracting and relaxing 15 times per second at speed 1 - that's essentially 900 times per minute! That's 9,000 times per ten minutes and by my calculations, at an increase of 0.6123 Hz per each level of speed, my muscles were contracting and relaxing 12,306.42 times per 10 minutes at speed 10!
How does this compare to other strength training, I don't know ... and promise to find out.
But I will tell you that after 10 minutes I felt as shaky and light-headed as I normally would after a rigorous work-out. An hour later, my muscles really felt different ... who knows?!?!
Tomorrow I start recording my progress in inches lost.
Until then, Shake it! Shake it! Shake it!
